Your Workshop

Schools, professional artists and corporates have commissioned workshops and have made use of the imaginative ideas of P. Rajagopal and Hanne M. De Bruin to create memorable learning events attuned to your specific needs.

Kattaikkuttu is an ideal medium to explore issues of-

  • Self-presentation and confidence on the public stage
  • Collaboration with and respect for others; addressing issues of diversity
  • (Physical) cooperation between women and men
  • Body awareness and space
  • Self-confidence
  • Coordination
  • Learning the basics of Kattaikkuttu acting, music, make-up and/or storytelling.

Rajagopal and Hanne led a 2-days workshop at the Kuttu Kalai Kudam for a group of professional storytellers from the USA in 2008. During 3 international tours of the Kattaikkuttu Sangam's ensemble in 1995, 1997 and 2006, they taught artistic workshops at schools and theatre organizations in Europe. They also taught a week-long summer course for children and young people at the Haymarket theatre in Leicester, UK, in 2001.

The young apprentices of the Kattaikkuttu Gurukulam have independently led artistic workshops for local schools and have trained children for the Youth & Peace event organized by the ASEEMA Trust, Chennai, in January 2011.
Workshops can be held at the Kuttu Kalai Kudam or at a venue of your choice. For information about the possibilities and costs, please Click here to contact us.
