Visibility & The Media
Positive media attention for Kattaikkuttu and our work and the school has greatly boosted the visibility and image of the theatre. We wish to maintain an open dialogue and good relationships with the press and other media.
It is important that Kattaikkuttu performers are seen as professionals and the students of the Kattaikkuttu Gurukulam are recognized for their talent and training. As an association of professional performers, the Kattaikkuttu Sangam seeks publicity for the successes and ambitions of the organisation and frank factual reporting.
We encourage the media to write about Kattaikkuttu, review performances and invite them to visit the Kuttu Kalai Kudam in order to experience Kattaikkuttu and our work directly. We believe that this will go a far way to facilitate reporting based on facts and will help turn Kattaikkuttu's image of a "poor theatre | theatre of the poor" into one of dignity and viability.
The quarterly Kattaikkuttu e-newsletter contains updates about the work of the Sangam and the Gurukulam. It is sent out to more than 1000 people and has become an active platform through which we keep in touch with friends, fans and well-wishers. Click here
